I never really experienced any of the problems with Dragon kits until I started this one. Fit, directions, overall engineering. What a beast. It took forever to get the sections to line up and even then they didn't fit correctly. Almost threw it in the trash. Even after all that, I think it came out pretty decent.

You did a fantastic job. I've had it the stash for many years and acquired it second hand long before I was made aware of its issues. Have been reluctant to make a start on it because of it, but curious at the same time. Kind of like reaching out to touch something that you know is going to be hot... just to find out how hot it is 😛

Pretty decent? That is an understatement if I seen one! Came out excellent🙂

hi Rick, Im currently building the Meng Smerch rocket launcher that looks very similar to this vehicle - even their kit is a huge challenge of fit and intricacy plus 1492 parts to deal with! Youve done a great build! Come on James, accept the challenge!

@ Cliff - With winter almost upon us, it would be an ideal project to tackle. Will think about it 😉

Excellent result, especially for such an old kit. Any reason why you went with the Dragon kit instead of the Trumpeter one?

I have the trumpeter kit and was going to start it it and then I found the dragon kit at a very low price so I second guessed my self thinking it looked easier to build. I was kicking myself the whole time. I may just build the trumpeter kit one of these days
