Suomen ilmavoimat - Finnish Airforce

Already early in 1918 short time after declaration of independence (06.12.1917) the first planes arrived in Finland to support the fight against Sovietunion. In the 20s, 30s and 40s aircraft from nearly all producing countries entered service with Ilmavoimat: Fokker, Morane-Saulnier, Fiat, Hawker, Bristol, Curtiss, Brewster, Messerschmitt, Dornier and others. Some of these were still on duty in the 50s. After WWII MIG, Saab, BAE, Folland, today MDD's F/A-18 and tomorrow F-35 A contributed and will contribute to finnish Airforce.
