After 25 cars and 1 ship (on hold), decided to try something new. Looking forward to having a lot of small and detailed pieces to try and figure out. Shame the cowling is going to cover most of it up!!

Can anyone help? I'm getting a patchy finish on the swingarm for this project. It should be semi-gloss black but despite a sand down, reprime and respray, I'm still getting this patchy effect rather than a consistent one. I originally thought it was due to the low temperatures (I have to spray stuff in the garage) but it's still happening despite the temperatures going up. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks.

I have no experience with sprayed colors (sorry, just brush-painter), but a similar effect happens, when I use too much thinner for semi-gloss paint.
Have you tried to use another tin of the same colour?

Many thanks Frank. It's my last tin so I'll get some more on order and see if that makes a difference. A bit surprised because it was same tin used to do the chassis which turned out ok. Have got the tin in the house now to try and raise the temperature of it slightly before I trying another coat.

Try putting the tin in warm water before spraying.
