A history of the oldest heavier than air flying squadron in the world, in 1/72nd scale model aircraft. No. 3 Squadron was one of the first squadrons of the Royal Flying Corps (RFC), established on 13 May 1912. It was the first independent military unit to operate heavier-than-air flying machines.
The squadron’s motto is “Tertius primus erit,” which translates to “The third shall be the first.”
