I am trying to get back into the hobby, used to build a lot as a youth but with work and life kind of lost track. Started doing die cast police replicas in the early 00s and still do but always craved getting back into modeling. Have collected and dispensed with a couple of different collections over the years because I never thought I'd get around to building them. First was pretty much every Pontiac Firebird model kit ever produced then sold them all. Then it was the reimagined BSG which was mostly resin kits and I had pretty much all that were produced along with the Moebius stuff then, again sold them off. Now something I was alway interested in grabbed me, after driving by our aviation museum every day and seeing the RCAF F101 Voodoo perched on its stand just like an old Aurora kit I couldn't resist.

So off I went on a journey to grab up a 1/72 and 1/48 model of all the jets that have been used by the RCAF. That spilled over to the pre jet age so I included those as well. I nearly have them all now and just have to get to building something. I have been cursed a few times with 'if it can go wrong, it will go wrong' and my first Sabre had one of the horizontal stablizers break off. I had to drill and pin only to have the paint go sideways on me so it went back into the box for a bit so I can come back fresh.
In light of my diecast police replicas I decided to try to recreate an APV that our local police inheritied from the armed forces, a Grizzly AVGP. Using the Trumpeter kit I went about getting it going but need to do some research on paint. It is black or very dark grey but in photos it can look bluish to dark green, all depends on the lighting. I also need to scratch build a boom arm that it is equiped with for 'knocking on doors'.

More of Murphy's Law...between the Grizzly and some diecast projects I wanted something to fill the gaps so I grabbed a 1/144 Sabre. Well, as with the curse of my 1/72, after getting everything all filled and smooth etc, the same horizontal stabilizer snapped off!
