Well after several attempts and a few times of thinking I might just toss if off the balcony...it is done. The body still doesn't fit the chassis properly so I ended up gluing it where the frame slips behind the trunk at the rear and where the front wheel wells meet with the radiator panel. There is about a 2 to 3 mm gap on each side where the body meets the frame rails but as it is mounted on a base I didn't bother trying to fill them or glue them. The added tension was starting to make stress fractures to the panel between the fenders where the wipers are. Also no matter how smooth it is polished, the texture of the bad body is still visible but under normal viewing and lighting it will do.
