Hi guys,
This is the well-know and regarded Academy tooling from the mid-2000's. A great kit, suited to all skill levels.
For those who might be interested, here is a quick overview of the products used for the painting and weathering stages.
Mr Surfacer 1500 grey
Various tones of dark grey and brown as pre-shade
Tamiya acrylics mix for the light grey (25% XF-19, 25% XF-80, 50% X-2) which looked better than what I had in stock from Gunze, IMO.
A-stand Steel and Pale burnt metal + Tamiya X-19 Smoke for the exhaust. SM-201 for the Corogard on the leading edges.
GX-100 and GX-112 Gloss varnish
MRP-126 Super Clear Varnish Semi-matt
Weathered using ABT-502 oils (starship filth and burnt umber mainly)
Have a great day, happy modelling!

Great neat work. I want to make the same set but with a duck on the back. Thanks for the paints you used.

The last gunfighter.
the lines are well highlighted by a fine paint job. Neither too much nor too little. Awesome.
Et que la cocarde hameçonnée est belle sur ce zinc.
Thank you for sharing

Thank you guys, highly appreciated.
@Kesa: I didn't take any WIP pics, sorry.
@Bozo: FR:Je suis d'accord, elle lui va bien, surtout au grand format par rapport à la phase bleue. EN: I agree, the full size Aeronavale roundel works well here, I like it better than the small one on the blue livery.

I just love the Crusader in french marine livery. Very well done model.

Awesome one! Trully well done!
The Academy kit still is up for the job.
Does the blue star below the cockpit mean anything specific? Is the canopy seal a decal?
Did you at some point consider those resin sets for flaps and slats (in case you have any opiniom on them)?

Thank you guys, it means a lot to me 🙂
@Marius, the flaps are from Quickboost. They are quite fragile and I ended up needing two sets as I damaged the first one beyond mending.
I did see the wing sets allowing for the raised wing with deployed slats and flaps, as well as those for the folded wings. But low availability and high cost made me go with a simpler setup.
I also think that a deployed and lowered wing helps appreciate the "lines" of the Crusader and since there are many pictures of the plane with lowered wing, wing-tips and flaps, I went with that.
