Looking good, Scott. Recently finished this one myself. The pinstripes were enough to almost make me want to start drinking again!

I'm so glad you said that Mike. I'm doing the decals now using a combonation of the kit ones, TB Decals and Indycals ones because the pinstripes are a NIGHTMARE! I keep messing them up and more than once I've had to stop myself chucking the bodywork out the window. 🤣 Good thing I have all three sets though, otherwise I'd be properly stuck.

Be careful mixing those decals. Mine were a combination of kit and TB. The gold colors are way off. Quite a noticeable difference. It was too late for me. This one now sits at the back of my display shelf.

Decals all done now, and I'm just glad they're done. That was a battle of perseverance over worrying about such "nice to haves" as matching colours. 🤣 every kit is a learning experience. 🤷♂️

Calling it done… and to think I thought something "plain black" might be a little easier. 🤷♂️

It looks incredible; you did a stellar job, and that black gloss coat is soooo shiny.

Thanks Jennifer. I mostly (95% ish) used IndyCal decals, and I'll sure be using them again! They're fairly thick, but that makes them very opaque, enough so to cover the bodged TB Decal on the left front wing which is now (thankfully) impossible to spot. They do respond very well to Micro Set and Sol however and spookily settle down very nicely around details like rivets. They're also a matt finish so they needed 3 coats of Tamiya Clear to get a decent gloss finish. The Goodyear logos on the tyres are also IndyCal and they are simply magic!!!
The only other thing I changed from the box was the mesh over the intake funnels. The kit ones are too big and not finished very well so i used some Model Factory Hiro ones that I rummaged from my stash

Fine job, sir! Yes, plain black can be very deceiving! Not near as simple as it should be!
