The work on the two helicopters is now far enough advanced that Mi-6 and Mi-22 start to differ; therefore I begin here the Mi-22 construction gallery. You can see that it lags slightly behind the Mi-6: the nose and tail sections are already joined, but not yet trimmed. What shines like a gel is hardened cyanoacrylate glue, which I use as a filler. There is hardly any other way of overcoming or holding these gaps together. What's more, it can be smoothed out beautifully!

Here are also a few new pictures of the pre-shading; it is not without reason that they are similar to those of the Mi-6. I make sure that both grow at the same rate.

The condition here is similar to that of the Mi-6. The next stage on the Mi-22 will also be the landing gear assembly, followed by that of the tanks and completed by that of the extensive antenna collection.

Here you can see pictures of the Mi-22 in its current state of construction: Landing gear and external tanks are mounted, and the now matted surfaces show the appearance that I envision. What follows now will be a whole lot of antennas on the fuselage as well as the start of the construction of the main and tail rotors of these two helicopter giants.

The Mi-22 is making similar progress and prospects for completion as the Mi-6, although the issue with the renewed windows is still clear. I'll also show you pictures of the rotors - mighty wingspan, I can only say! I will also finish these tomorrow and matt them.

Take a closer look at the cover picture - the main rotor blades do not have the black leading edge over the entire length.

Thank you very much for your feedback! Both are motivating and inspiring: BAT21, thanks for the tip: I consulted a lot of original pictures and found the 'short' black leading edge you mentioned everywhere. So yesterday I repainted both rotors accordingly, which in my opinion also looks cooler 😉

This challenging double project has now come to an end - leaving a lot of welcome space on the workbench that has become free again! 🙂 A size comparison with one of my "standard figures" or an AH-1 Cobra should help to emphasise the impressive size of the Mi-22. As you can see in the build report, this was a challenging modelling project, so I'm all the happier to be able to complete it now in both cases. The Mi-22 was a "flying command post", so the antennae, radar and communications equipment are accordingly dense.

Perfect output 👍. Pictures are great as always, but 30 - 33 are stunning (light, perspective....) - like it 👍
