B-4 203 mm howitzer, 1st Belorussian Front, Seelower Höhen April 1945

Integrated the turned barrel. There was some drilling necessary to let the turned barrel have a slight recoil into the rear mantlet as it should be 

The turned barrel also have nice visible riflings provided 

Finished the complete gun in just one day 🙂 

 

 

Finished painting and washing process. Next comes drybrushing the highlights (and there are a lot of them) 

In the beginning I would like to represent a camouflaged howitzer but some russian fellow modellers told me the camouflage was mainly used at the beginning of WWII and will not be very appropriate in my late war diorama. Therefore I had to stay with a plain green one but I couldn´t resist to add a slogan to the gun barrel. Translatet it means "revenge" 

The tracked suspension was clogged with dirt (made of acrylic paste mixed with russian earth pigments, static grass and fine earth particles)
