Very nice progress On that bird Harry 👍
The book you asked for is
World Air Power Journal Volume 32 Spring 1998
It contains 4 pages of the colourful Agressors
Hope that helps 🙂

Sergej I will do the gray one!
Thx Stephan! Of course it helps 😉

Watching with much interest - for an aggressor, the title pic bears quite a load of grime & weathering on the wings & tail section, very much looking forward to you tackling the final appearance!
8 October 2019, 09:23

Sorry! Forgotten to take pics from the pit and the pilot. Now he is in his office! 😉
18 October 2019, 07:11

Aus dem Pilotenklumpen hast Du aber echt was rausgeholt! I´ll take a front row seat!
18 October 2019, 07:19

Whoah!!! Cool to see the same kit but with a different approach. 🙂 Great job so far! 👍
18 October 2019, 14:19

Little update! A friend of me gave me resin nozzles. I think they are made for the Hasegawa F-18. A few cuts and a little sanding and now the fit to my Academy kit. 🙂
5 November 2019, 09:37

Cool to see this coming along too! Sadly I see you had to struggle the aft fuselage into order as well... 🙁
6 November 2019, 02:46

Harry, did you follow Academy's instructions and did you encounter any difficulties doing so? I deviated from the instructions in order to better align the fuselage parts but found difficulties elsewhere. Oh, and why the hole in the air brake bay?
6 November 2019, 04:50

I don´t know whats wrong with this kit. A friend told me that this F-18 comes together easily but in my opinion the fit is not so good.
I followed the instruction not in all points because I also thought the assembling is easier in my way...
For the resin nozzles I had to cut and sand it down but it´s no problem because the break will be closed. 😉

I feel you Harry.... I dry fitted these parts for days before committing to glue and they looked the part. Once glue came into play, all my parts seem to shift and tension up leaving me with ridges and gaps. It'll work in the end but for now the process is frustrating...
6 November 2019, 20:06

We're in this together Harry! Don't feel alone out there!....... 😄
7 November 2019, 06:57

Some progress on the Hornet! Primer, preshading and first color applied! 🙂
25 November 2019, 06:22

Very nice surface work. The camo choice was a good one, the colors make a great combo on the model 👍. Looking forward to the weathering, the title pic suggest some interesting options... 🙂
7 December 2019, 00:03

Did anybody notice the smart way of building a jig out of cardboard by the way??? 😉
7 December 2019, 17:06

Thank you all together! 🙂
Yes Slavo I will try that kind of weathering.
Ronan I used Gunze H307, H317 and H301. In my opinion the colors in the instruction sheet are not the best choice (especially H308 instead of H307, it's to light).
Patrick I stole this idea from Ronan! Please don't tell him! 😄
8 December 2019, 09:14

Harry, looking at your pictures in more detail I have one burning question: How did you get the underside plugs for the LERX fit so smoothly??? I have been going at them with filling and sanding for ages! 😮
16 December 2019, 15:42

Thanks mates! 👍
@ Patrick: the fit was not too bad, but filling and sanding was nessesary! The camo did the rest! 😄
17 December 2019, 07:02

I agree, great colors, looks very convincing 👍 the CATM-9 is a nice add on to the greys as well. Really looking forward to the base!
2 January 2020, 23:16

Good stuff 👍 Great reproduction of the title pic with the weathering!
3 January 2020, 08:08

Thank you Ronan and Didi!
@ Ronan: the spotter is selfmade from a Hasegawa guy! 😉 I added some pics.
21 January 2020, 10:07

Very nice hornet, looks great! And awesome painting of the spotters pants btw 🙂
