F-22 Hasegava 1:48. Step by step. Cockpit
1
May 21, 2023Annoying, but necessary step - to cut seat from resin base2
May 21, 2023A bit of rough sending. Good illustration of how much resin dust accumulates in the water3
May 21, 2023Not a fan of PE seatbelts, but in this case application went easy4
May 21, 2023For tiny PE parts I like to use wax pencil, easy and very helpful tool5
May 21, 2023After gluing was done I cleaned all CA excess with debonder from VMS6
May 21, 20237
May 21, 2023Now all small parts of interior8
May 21, 2023Done and ready for paint. And yes I knocked this round part beyond seat, but fixed it later9
May 21, 2023Instrument panel I left unglued for more easy painting10
May 31, 2023Before painting I cleaned everything with alcohol11
May 31, 2023I base coat everything with Tamiya NATO black, without primer, in this case I don’t find it necessary12
May 31, 2023Than axes few drops of Tamiya Buff and highlited most visible areas13
May 31, 2023And even more buff on Smoler areas for sntronger contras14
May 31, 2023After it picked up buttons and smal dress with lighter colors15
May 31, 202316
May 31, 2023Now it look more fun and ready for decals17
June 4, 2023Decal time! Firstly I applied Tamiya mark fi18
June 4, 2023Then carefully place decal19
June 4, 2023When decal is in place I press it a bit with cotton swab or brush.20
June 4, 2023And to permanently fix it to place I apply Ammo Mig Decal Fix21
June 4, 2023Sometimes there can be bubbles at corners or deca can be a bit bigger than it should be, and in this case I just carefully poke it with the knife and press it with brush22
June 4, 2023After decals dried I covered all surface with VMS Matt23
June 4, 2023Finally time to washes, in this case I just use Tamiya Black panel liner, they are great, I wish they would have more colour options..24
June 4, 2023I let wash to dry around 30 min and came back to clean excess with brush slightly moistened win white spirit. This way I have more control on which part will be lighter and which I keep darker25
June 4, 2023When dried I again dealt everything with matt varnish, let it dry for an hour. And as finishing step I took AK Real Colors gloss varnish and fills all screens for glass effect.26
June 4, 2023And it’s done. Ofc it can be more weathered, but this is commission build and my client like it clean. Now to the rest of the build27
