This is one of the most unique models I have seen. (not that I have seen that many but still 😉 )

Unfortunately it was a pride of a bearded vulture. Prof. Grzimeks son Michael flew it, when he collided with said vulture. The impact bend the control surfaces making the plane uncontrollable. Michael Grzimeks died in the crash.
A copy of the plane is on display at the zoo of Frankfurt/Main, Germany, where Prof. Grzimek was director for quite a long time. He shot the film "The Serengeti must not die" in the late fifties. If I am not mistaken, the first non-american movie to win an Oscar.

Remains of that plane are displayed in the Technik Museum Berlin with the story behind it. Nice build 👍
