No downtime around here. Time to start the next build by nerding out about the engine build.

I seem to remember some of the trucks had basic engines covering a variety of different kits , some newer issues had no engine at all hence the cottage industries set up providing photo etch and resin parts. Watching your build with interest.

Master?! You're too kind haha 🙂 Glad to have some mates along for the ride though, been looking forward to this build for a while!

I love how much work you and many others mates put into these builds, I'm already happy when my oob builds look something similar as the boxart lol
I've noticed that on my Scania some of the plastic parts are really soft, is that normal on newer Italeri kits?

How soft are we talking? I haven't manhandle too many of the parts from this kit yet, so I can't be sure. The last Italeri kit I did was shot fairly recently (I think), and I didn't notice anything unusual about the material.

Normally when using alclad black primer for the alclad chrome it gives a shiny surface, now it looks like the paint get sucked into the plastic even after 3 layers it won't give a nice shine with the chrome.
I did the motor with normal black gloss paint and then alclad chrome it looks good(ish)
Same when I cut a part from the sprue and need to clean the part, I need to be very carefull cuz you go thru the plastic like a warm knife thru butter.. didn't have this with older kits
