During my tour at Ft. Carson, Transportation companies of the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) operated the venerable M35 "Deuce and a half" to move personnel and cargo. Although 4th Infantry did not deploy for Operation Desert Storm, the armor was nonetheless painted desert sand in case rapid deployment became necessary. M35 trucks were frequently operated on the Fort Carson reservation and the Piñon Canyon Maneuver Site for exercises.
