F4u Corsair - 2nd Attempt

 

 

 

First time using surface primer. It made the primary coat go much easier.  

 

 

Well, this turned into a poop fest...

I'm glad I decided to start back up modelling with an inexpensive model. The decals are horrible. I didn't put on enough gloss coat and my paint finish started to come off due to the Micro Set. I also think the decals are too large. I don't know, but on the side, I couldn't get them to fit in the space allotted. Then I grabbed the model to put on the tiny decals and pulled off the side decals. Total Charlie Foxtrot...

I still do not fully understand Micro Sol and Micro Set. I always just used Sol. But the way it was explained to me that SET (blue) goes under the decal and SOL (red) goes on top. But it seamed as though the SET was causing more damage to the paint job. ??? ugh... 

I figured since this model is messed up, it would be a good chance to try my first antennae rigging. I just got some E Z Line and a Glue Looper and wanted to try them... 

This is the result. Not bad, I think. 

E Z Line and the Glue Looper were so easy to use.
