Thank you Aghis, I hope they are good supprises 🙂
there are a few more what if's to go up

Always good to see original and creative work. More you say ? I will stay tuned 🙂

I think i still have the original artwork that inspired me on the F-14, A7, and F-8.. I have a load of them which i want to do... RAAF Lightning.. things like that

Very convincing, all of them - and very nice brushwork Augie. I know it is not easy to get balanced coats via handbrush.

Not intended 🙂
I used to paint camouflages by hand for years...up to my Manchester Uni days back in 1990's...

Hi Guido, that was inspired from art work that i found from when it was actually pitched to the Aeronavale

What if...when I built the Airfix B-29 in the 70s, it was clad in desert tan with RAF sky undersides, stars'n'bars, and b/w invasion stripes 😄

The real 'what if' I asked myself back then was "what if I try brushing it natural metal and f*ck it all up" 🙂
26 May 2012, 15:57

The funny thing was that I succeeded in persuading all my mates that the paintjob was totally authentic :-D

I only meant that the Spit did not need a rear gunner - the extra weight would spoil it. But if you look at it purely as a joke, then its different😉

Thanks bud, the F-14 was a bodge hack between old italeri kit and hasegawa.. plus i think the old cat could have had bigger claws

I like them all. And they may not have been so far fetched! RAF Vigilante to replace the cancelled TSR.2? French Navy A-7F purchase seems very plausible. As I said, I like them all! I have a bunch of $.99 kits in the stash. Wonder what I can come up with?

Hehe thats the fun of what-if's to me.. you can just let imagination go
26 October 2016, 17:49

The only what if I have ever done is a desert camo scheme A-10. I like the ones you have there especially the F-14.

The purchase of corsair has been studied by french navy in 70', but the plane was too heavy
27 October 2016, 07:09

Yikes! If I forget to put my glasses on, and disregard scale a bit, doesn't the RAF marked A-5 look a lot like a 'Tonka' at mid-sweep wing position?
27 October 2016, 11:52

Hehe yeah I have to admit Derek, there is a resemblance at the right angle.
