A little putty never hurt.. The tail sections did not mate together well. Force fitting clicked it into place, but then the tail leaned to the right visibly. Scoring to relieve the pressure did the trick but left a gap.

OK, I see that the front machine gun on my model is on the upper side of the canopy blister, while the painting shows it on the lower side... I have a snippet from the instructions and I interpreted assembly details as I carried out... oh well. (not the 1st time!) 

Doesn't that look like on the upper side? Or I have done a field modification!
