Another Airfix Classic.

Assembly of the bodywork and seats done, so primer on too.  

So many wheels to be prepared,but primer applied first. The majority are fitted loose, so only a few have white glue in their axle hole. Unfortunately, most holes are slightly off centre, so we'll see the consequences later on... Four figures to be painted too.  

Progress is being made..... 

Once the leaf spring suspension is fitted, there is insufficient room for the tyre. So some drastic surgery had been required. This allows the axle to project sufficient to fit the hub, and still allow the outer wheel to rotate as intended. 

Wheels added to the transit modules. The gun is free to traverse and also rise for anti-aircraft use.  

Bad seam lines had to be removed, particularly from the barrel. I have drilled out the muzzle so it doesn't have a blocked end on view 

 

Ready for lifting up into the transit supports. 

The side arms are hinged, but the opposite side clashed with the small seat on the right side. The tow bar and barrel support are loose fit items. I will modify the tow bar connection, to allow it to move but not fall out. 

Some further work required.... 

First round of figure painting. More to follow. Lots of seam lines had to be removed. 

Huge mould marks have been left, as they will be fully hidden. But maybe I should fill them, after all! 

The moulded dash board instruments have been painted, but I see two or three little dials I missed.... A gear lever and hand-brake were added, though difficult to see 

Decals added and sealed. 

There was a moulded outline for the number plate, but it was much smaller than the decal. So, I removed it, and left the bodywork smooth. 

I'll add some thin clear plastic sheet for the windscreen. 

Loose fitted canvas roof has been dry-brushed to try to emphasize the shapes, but maybe I need to add more? 

Definitely getting there.... 

Some weathering with oils, and that's about as good as I can achieve 

 

The bored out end of the barrel helps. 

Some dusty build up on the floors. 

Still not painted the smallest dials.... 

Some more work on the canopy roof 

A mix of dusty colours over all the wheels, tracks and bodywork. 

Still not 100% happy, but more weather-beaten already
