I wish another model manufacturer would make a 1/48 scale XF-103. The Collect Aire kit was nice but (at the time) WAY out of price range of my wallet. I guess I'll have to buy a resin printer and try to make my own.

Hanno, from what I read about it the XF-103 was supposed to have a Mach 3+ performance making it the fastest interceptor ever built. Unfortunately titanium fabrication problems as well as engine development issues caused the Air Force to lose interest and in August 1957 the plug was pulled on it.

Yes, they had some serious problems in engine development back then.......
Like the J 46 engine for the Douglas Stiletto that never materialized, preventing the plane to gain its full potential. Checkin' in on this one
