F 105 over vietnam

This project is going to be a real challenge for me. The kit is an old Hasegawa from 1978, very far from current standards in terms of fit, definition, etc... Just look at the pilot and the ejection seat... 

 

The panel lines are brutally large, the joints and fit are complicated...I'm going to need tons of putty. 

 

In reality, the pilot's visibility with the cockpit closed and in flight, as I am going to represent it, is minimal. Making it "look like a pilot" and "look like a seat" is enough for me. 

I have detailed the cockpit a bit more to make it look like a cockpit...and it kind of looks like one... 

 

There is still a huge amount of putty and sandpaper work to be done...we will keep you posted... 

After tons of putty and sandpaper we continue moving forward 

 

We continue working on the lightening (with yellow for the greens and with white for the sand) of the three base colours diluted to 50%. 

 

 

I have worked the shading with black acrylic paint diluted to 90% and sprayed with an airbrush at low pressure. 

 

This is the general idea of ​​the dio I'm going to work on. An F100 and an F105 over the jungles of Vietnam doing their thing... 

 

I'm going to start working on the burnt metal effect in the area near the engines, so typical of the F-100.
Using an acrylic aluminum base with an airbrush, a coat of hairspray, cover with the tan and camouflage green and strip with a brush and water. Now we'll go on to the burnt effects with Real Color Clear. 

 

 

Finished planes and approximate positions to see distances, etc... I have to tell you the background of the diorama and how you are going to solve the explosions in the jungle...
