Building the Tempo Dreirad

I chose this version of a vehicle from Nuremberg thinking of my late and beloved godmother, who spent most of her life there. 

This is a modern and well produced kit, it is complete, but you need some patience. 

The PE included is quite intricate. 

I chose to assemble and paint the driver´s compartment prior to installing interior details, contrary to kit instructions. But I think it paid off. 

The kit leaves room to work on various subassemblies. 

I painted and weathered the flatbed section before assembling it. 

The bodywork received a neat blue paintjob and quite a lot of clear gloss prior to decaling, 

Installing brake lines is recommended for advanced modelers only. Well, I almost got away with it. 

The engine is a formidable and intimidating subassembly. 

But looks quite the part once completed. 

The driver´s compartment is being furnished with its interior detail. 

Before putting it all together. 

The decals worked well. 

Crucial assembly points are on the small and weak side. It all needs tender handling and patience. 

The main components have been assembled, now for the iffy parts. 

I made a kind of a jig to ease handling. 

The model has been completed 

It looked quite nice to me. 

Yet deserving of a bit of scenery around it.
