Building and painting images

Improvements to the cast and rolled steel elements using modelling filler, also the weld seams have been rescribed remade with games workshop 2-part 'green stuff'. 

The rear track rack was modified to resemble the real thing more. the addition on the back of the turret was made by cutting an alluminium can into thin strips and bending/shaping/supergluing into place. 

Frames over the optics, grab handles and turret rails were added using wire. At the time of making the handles I did not have the right gauge wire, so these are way too large. A canvas bag was sculpet using 2-part green stuff and moulded around the location of some extra stowage. 

The model was primed, pre-shaded and coated. The decals were applied after a layer of humbrol gloss varnish. Dark wash was used to accentuate features, followed by streaking grime effects. The surfaces were then chipped with a dark mix of olive drab as some images I have found of these vehicles show the scratches formed dark streaks as oppose to making the paint paler. The model was only chipped to bare metal on the fenders and lifting hooks. These areas also recieved a rust wash. 

The texturing, predusting and enamel effects were really effective on the rear plate. 

Pigmenst have been used to simulate rubbel and mud collecting on flat surfaces. 

 

These figurines will do for now, this guy has seen some serioes s**t! 

Stowage has been glued in place(yes, over the engine vents xD) and is waiting for some ropes to tie it down. By the time i hads realized i had covered up the majority of the vents it was too late and I was too commited to adding the stowage like this, which i quite happy with. 

Some of the Tamiya spare bags will be hung from the railings on the turret. Im not quite surfe how but i like the positioning of this piece.
