This will be a build of Illustrious in the timeframe the kit depicts her, after the great refit of 2005, still carrying Sea Harriers. So no kit surgery, but building the kit using the excellent WEM PE set. I have a lot of aircraft for her, and I might try to fill the deck - but that remains to be seen. The base will be a somewhat lively sea, and will house only this ship - just for reasons of space.

Frank Spahr АвторYup. Right now it´s elbow grease which is in demand, as I´m cleaning up hull seams - but they´re by far not as bad as expected.

Frank Spahr АвторIn each project, there is the point when you feel you don´t make progress at all, at least in my experience. I´m plodding my way through subassemblies without actually realizing where I stand in regard to completion. I will not post too many images as Illustirous might yet become a print magazine article, but will add a few.
