I've had a chance to buy a Fusil Gras and a Lebel rifle recently which came after the period represented here. I may have to reconsider after seeing this diorama.

This looks great! I have to say the French foreign legion had the best headgear as well.

It looks like Captain Danjou is there with his pistol. He died during this battle. The Legion still has his wooden hand and display it during special events.

Every year on the Camarone Anniversary Day (30. April) the Legion took Danjou´s wooden hand out of the museum and presenting the hand on her main parade at the Legion´s headquarter in Aubagne.
