I've heard quite a few people ask this question and unfortunately I've not seen anyone suggesting a practical solution to a completely invisible repair.
(one impractical solution I've read about is to use Araldite….which is left to dry in a vacuum. I don't know about you, I haven't got a vacuum chamber.)

I googled around a lot before asking here and didnt really have much hope for a solution. I guess this project stays on the shelf for a while longer

Dry fitting strongly recommended as the instructions were not for the faint-hearted. Mostly the tolerances were high enough to keep the need for glue to a minimum.
