Lochsa River Autor....This was a lark....one day this legacy Testors Ike kit got on the radar and I noticed no one except the master himself had even tried to make something of this....easy to see why...all white with many, many little slats in the sides...raised lines for the decals that need to be sanded off....no fun to do right....
....But, i noticed there was a Tintin version of this Ike in decal form from Blue Rider in their Aircraft of Tintin Series (purchased as a lark to have the fun decals) and down the rabbit hole it was....into building the two seater version...then making up a story to justify the decals.....
...It goes like this....before this was used to help Tintin in Scotland, it was made into a two seater in Russia....however, to smuggle the plane out in the hot 1930s...Red Stars were painted on the wings so the plane could fly to Finland...a little known adjunct but there it is...you saw it here first...
...the master did this right....
