In 1968, AMT lost the promo contract for the Impala, Camaro and Firebird to MPC, and consequently they did not receive the blueprints and other information necessary to be able to update those three ’67 cars to ’68 specs. And rather than claiming them to be 1968 cars, this Impala, for example, says “For ’68” on the box instead of specifically stating “’68 Impala.” So this Impala is basically a custom AMT ’67 Impala with some new optional parts. Can be built custom or drag.
