The Gnat had the canopy added, masked and then primer applied (light grey). I have painted the yellow with 3 coats of Vallejo Model Air Medium yellow and 2 coats of Hataka BS Golden Yellow. Next will be the tail. 🙂

Sprayed with gloss varnish and then added the decals. Next will be adding the wheels and other ancillaries. 🙂

Now completed, this is a Folland Gnat from the Yellowjacks display team based at RAF Valley, Anglesey in 1964, a forerunner team of the Red Arrows. 🙂 The last photo is a picture of the actual aircraft.

@Mr D, I used a very light grey primer followed by Vallejo Model Air Medium Yellow and then Hataka Trainer Yellow x 2 coats over that. They went on better than I expected. 🙂

Hi Guy the Knat was my 2nd kit when l started back Modeling, l was gifted the 1/72 Aircraft Spitfire and Gnat starter kits for Christmas.
The paint for the Gnat was horrendous!! So had to get a pot of Tamiya, l didn't really have any fine brushes so only painted X1 pilot. also one of the wheel covers disappeared into the carpet 🙄🤣, I had to make one out of scrap but came out good.
Those gifts got me back in to things.... The wheel cover turned up 4 months later 🤔

@ Mr D: The main thing was it got you back into the hobby! I've really enjoyed the relaxation (and frustration) I have gained since coming back after many years. The carpet monster seems to frustrate us all!! 🙁
