Image from "Camouflage of Red Army Tanks 1930-1945" (Камуфляж танков Красной Армии 1930-1945). Conveniently, one of the few colour images is of a BA-6 (image mirrored to match the way it's going to be displayed. 

The hull and turret are painted over a rust red coat for hairspray chipping. The suspension can conveniently be assembled separately and weathered in other ways.

The better side of the finished product. The kit only includes one spare tire instead of two, so I put it on the side facing outward in the diorama. 

Sadly, you can't see much of the engine once the product is finished, and the front and rear bullet shields conceal much of the underside detail. 

The other side, to show what's missing. 

The figures for the diorama: a Trumpeter soldier in the middle and two ICM ones on the sides. The Trumpeter figure is, of course, much more detailed, but also noticeably smaller than the other two, even compared to his own equipment.
