Hi guys,
This is my Salmson 2A2, from Gaspatch model (1/48th).
The kit is very well detailed and the parts are very fine.... the problem is that a lot of them are so fine that it's impossible to remove them from the sprue or even to clean them. It's the first time I' broke so many parts on a kit. Disappointing...
All in all, it's tough kit :
- The cockpit is very well detailed, but 90% will be invisible when the model will be finish. There is 4 struts that are glued on the cockpit floor... the positioning needs to be perfect, otherwise, the top wing will not fit on them... and that's exactly what happens to me.... because of that I' completely F§#%$£-up the "cabane" (the central part underneath the upper wing).
- The other reason why the cockpit fitting must be perfect, is that you need a perfect adjustment of the two fuselage halves....otherwise, the lower wing will be offset-ed... another issue i' had...
-It's a biplane and the rigging needs a lot of work. I' choose to use some fishing line (22/100 mm). I'
