I used plastic eggs from a gift shop to build some of my Egg Planes, the two main advantages in my opinion are that they are stronger than real eggshells and easier to glue and to modify. Your MiG and the Mi-2 look OK for me. Fantasy is the best guide for egg planes.

Erik, I agree with your opinion. Plastic is much easier to glue. I have many issues with my real egg shells when I want to glue parts on them... 🙁
