Nimitz Cat 10

Hasegawa new tool kit, with a mixture of kit, Fujimi and Crazy Modeller decals to get proper version of AJ-200. 

Nose and fuselage pitots have fallen off over the years. 

Finished model is about 14 years old at this point.  

It was a fussy build though. 

 

So since I took those earlier photos 3 years ago I pulled it out today for a clean and some more pics. I noticed it seems to have developed some mould and dirt. I cleaned it off but some dirt seems to remain under the decals. Most are original Hasegawa decals, some Fujimi and some Superscale. It doesn't seem to matter which brand as they are all affected and others from the same brand are clear. Wierd. Must have been something in the water....

Navy is hasegawa decal. 

This is even weirder. The clear coat has developed hard spots. The earlier photos were taken when the model was about 16 years old. They were fine for 16years. 3 years later all this turns up? 

Even spots from the mould are on the inside of the fins where there are no decals. The clear was Klear/Future floor polish and Humbrol satin clear from the glass bottle.
 

Navy is Hasegawa, 160386 is Fujimi and beware of blast is superscale  

Any ideas anyone?
I think I'll try to strip the model of decals and give it a repaint.
