In 1982, the Hungarian People's Army purchased 36 Mi-2's to replace the venerable Mi-1's. The helos were used at the Szolnok Air Base for transport and liaison services, and were in active duty all the way to 2000. Because of its peculiar shape, the Hungarians nicknamed it "The Flying Chicken Drumstick".
The helo in my project is a model of the aircraft on exhibition at the Szolnok Aviation Museum in Hungary in the modern Hungarian green/mustard livery, that I had a chance to visit and document myself a few years ago.
I intend to make this a very relaxed and unpretentious project.

I am really flirting with this one on the shelf. I have two choices: an ambulance version or a military version. I am not too keen on the ambulance as I suck at spraying white, so I have tried to order the decals for the military one from Czechia. If I can get hold of them, I will start to build it ASAP.
