Tamiya should come out with a new mold of this iconic fighter in 1/48 as well as 1/72. That'd be awesome.

Can someone confirm that the product number for this kit is 61024 and that it was released as far back as 1978? I have a kit with exactly the same boxart, but with the number 6424. I know I bought this kit in the late '80s (probably 1989) and, as I recall, it was a new release. If it was actually released in 1978 it must have been an absolutely amazing kit.
