Looking really good. Is this the Italery kit in scale 1:72? How did you adress the multitude of sink marks at the rear of the blast deflectors?

@Michael Kohl: No, it's skunk models / ammo mig aircraft carrier deck. There wasn't any sink marks at the rear of the blast deflectors. I added around 500 3d printed bolts, but that's it.

Thanks. I hoped you had a neat idea how to tackle those sink marks at my Italery carrier deck.

I might still have a tip for you. I looked at a picture of them (the ammo mig kit definitely doesn't have them). They are huge…. I would fill them with sprue goo, and use a rotary tool to sand them down. The one from Dspiae has really small sanding sponges that should fit inside the sections, but I can't guarantee that. If you tell me the measures of the sections I could tell you if that would match.

Jep, they are huge and plentiful. I thought about sprue goo too, alternatively punching out discsfrom thin plastic card. I actually have the Dspiae sander. I will check it out. Thanks for the hint.

Plastic discs are also an option, but probably difficult to get the height right. If you have smaller once's you could try a combination of plastic and sprue goo. Hope that works out for you, happy modeling 🙂

First a big congratulations for the superb diorama, model and figures!
Just like Michael I had the same question about scale and blast deflectors, since I also have a similar diorama planed in 1:72.
I like the weathering you applied to the deck overall, including blast deflectors. Too bad you still can't bookmark someone else's projects directly on scalemates to use yours as reference in half a year or more.
In picture 4 you really have a Top Gun (1) vibe, with the pilot figure looking a bit like a young Tom Cruise.

Thank you very much Marius. I also wish you happy building. I guess the Italieri 1:72 kit is much more of a challange then the one i used.
The figures are defentily made to look like Tom Cruise, they come also with the proper decals for the helmet: F-14 Tomcat Crew Set, 1980's..(R2 Miniatures R08-48, 1:48)
With the bookmark, yeha, that doesn't work on scalemates. But the "good" news is, i've published much more then just the pictures. You can check the full build video, including instructions which colors and techniques i used on my YouTube channel:
