Thanks James, this is my first try on chipping. Taking that into account it turned out quite nice 🙂 Next time I will later it more, add a layer of primer after the silver to make the chipping going "deeper" and in several layers.

Well you've done a good job for your first try Sam. Oils could also bring some depth to the effect. So many methods and techniques to experiment with 🙂

Did a wash with Tamiya panel liner to bring out the seams a bit better and give an more used look on the paint. Will also add some oil paint to make the exhaust and cannons pop out a bit more

Nice job 👍. Considering how old the tool is on this one, did you find any serious fitting problems?

Well its old, in fact as old as I am Alberto 😄 There was some issues with the fitting around the joint of the fuselage and the wings, easily fixed with some putty. Some flash on the spurs, but nothing that could not be fixed. For the price of 13€ I'm happy

Hahaha thanks Sam, you're still a bit younger than me then! I was asking because I have in my stash the A6M5c from Tamiya that shares the tool with this one. Good to know there aren't any major issues 👍

No bigger issues, the details are not the greatest and the cockpit bebefits from some additions as seatbelts. If I would redo it I would drill holes in the seat back and probably invest 10€ on the Eduard set for the model.

Album info
Pictures along the building of this Tamiya 1973 A6M2. Quality of the parts is a bit questionable as is the fitting…
