That's a good start.
Do you already know the way it'll be decorated?

Hi, my advice for the future build [updating], can you find lead wire Plus Model it is a wire from 0,2 to 1,0mm. Perfect for engines and wheel bays.

Can't wait to see the finished item at the club! 😉 Are you going to arm the fish or were float-equipped Swordfishes not armed?

lower center wing is mounted, dryfit of the engine, looks ok to me. The HARD decision today is to NOT use the PE riggings as they don't fit as I want them to. I'll use the eyelet/turnbuckle method, hell yeahn let's twist some electric wire 🙂

engine and cowling are on, floatstruts mounted, eyelets in place.

Very nice work, these pics are cool but the real model is even more eyecatching, impressive rigging job!

started panelline washes and tried to add some oilstain behind the engine, that last thing can be done better, I know, only a try

Looks great Zimmy, almost finished? you are going really fast, what's the next project? geetz Phil

just try it once Stefan, it's fun with the right music to accompany you. I allways play Sinatra whilst rigging 🙂

Frank, the one and only, especially love that '67 album with Jobim
14 April 2012, 13:34

I love them all, but Frank is the King. Well, Chariman of the Board, actually. Yes, the album with Antonio Carlos Jobim is exceptional. Do you have the compilation from 2010 that includes the second album that was never released at the time it was recorded?

after being registered on Britmodeller for about an hour, I got pointed at the fact that I missed something with the rigging on the right wing, so I tore it off and redid, should be ok now. Canopy came out of the paintjob very well. Also added the tailrigging
21 April 2012, 16:04

not really sure if it's visible on the pics, but I tried my best and added the control cables for the rudders
22 April 2012, 13:48

The rigging looks great! I have the new Airfix 1:72 Stringbag on my wishlist, but I've never rigged a model - ever! It looks difficult enough here in 1:48, what will it be like in 1:72??
23 April 2012, 13:06

172 is a bit tiny to work with eylets/turnbuckles, so ya just have to drill holes and cement your rigging wire in "em. I read a lot about EZ-line used for rigging, guess that works perfect for 1/72, it's elastic
23 April 2012, 13:30

FINISHED !!!!!!!!! looking at the pictures is see I forgot to add one tiny thingie, first one to tell me what, gets a beer at the next meeting 🙂

Zimmi, this is fabulous! Amazing result and rigging! The overall-view opens a new way of thinking about this aircraft! You got it!😢
1 May 2012, 14:05

I do not know what is missing ( maybe the exhaust strains) but it looks damned good.
1 May 2012, 14:08

The weapons don't count for the missing parts, because I never add weapons if possible, no, it's a tiny, but very crucial part...
1 May 2012, 14:10

Whether or not,its absolutly great!!Well, well done Zimmi.
1 May 2012, 14:31

Hi Chris,
very well done and the paintjob is smooth and accuracy!
The clipped wing is a nice technical feature! Looks more busy now. The rigging is also well done!
All in all a fine model!
