Just kidding overall. I see that you founded j-aircraft.com (thanks for this, great references BTW) so I thought you might be up for an aotake argument. In reality, I am much more of a "paint it how you want, it's your model" guy than a paint-chip accurate modeler myself.

Oh I have gotten a lot of that over the years 🙂. I had to order some "aotake" for the non-crew areas. I am actually not super picky about anything colorwise. Having seen a lot of different parts and pieces over the years they are all across the board and as we age our eyes perception of color changes. As long as people are happy with what they build, I am very happy. Beauty of Japanese aircraft is "prove me wrong". There is no true documentation on the subject so it is pretty hard to do 🙂
