Ah! Photos, that we like. I see that you did the same error as me in that the section for the driver includin' the hatch shouldn't have any anti-slip...

Hi Urban.
Before I started this kit, I searched on the net for information and other modellers that built the Merkava III, and I saw yours, so, you are the reason to that "error"!!! Just kidding, but lesson learned.
I never tried the hamster sand, but embossing power makes a good result, on my point of view.
Sorry guys about my English.

Sorry mate! Glad you liked my effort with a kit that fought me all the way. Oh, don't excuse your English mate as it's way better than my Portugese.

Hi Paulo, great job! The anti-slip surface looks convincing... What colour did you use? I still looking for the right Humbrol colour. I fear I will need to mix some together.
And thanks to you and Urban for the hint with the driver's hatch. I have this kit still ahead of me...

For the colour I used 1 part of XF 24 and 1 part of XF 57.
After the paint job I found a can of XTRA COLOR enamel Israel Sand Grey Ref X 810.
I don't known if this product its of production.

You're pretty much on target with your mix I'd say. Too bad that It's not brushfriendly so Frank have to find a suitable Humbrol Enamel mix so he can brush his tank.

@Paulo: Thanks for the info. Gives me a good direction!
@Urban: Yeah, another challenge to tackle...😉
