I tell you one thing - this bird is BIG! It dwarfs the beaufighter I have in the cabinet. An interesting fact if you intend to build this model - the 'grates' of the cockpit floor are almost exactly sized to accept a 0.5 mechanical pencil! No wash needed - just draw in the grates and flat coat!

I punched out the instruments for the panel - I really prefer that to an IP decal. I also attempted to simulate wood grain on the tables using the oil paint technique. I wish I started with a lighter base colour but it still looks like dark stained wood to me!

The interior looks good. Keep it up! BTW, the quality of this kit is so good, you would think it was released yesterday! Betty is indeed a large aircraft. for inspiration, you may always look at this excellent build:

Aghis - that build is awesome! A little more ambitious than I am doing for sure. I love AC interiors but I hate it when I close them up and can no longer see anything. I'm still debating having the canopy window open or not.

I would say open everything you can, it will be much more interesting. I am sure you can pul it off !

Just getting all the joins perfect and taping up the 12000 windows on this plane! Hoping to have it primed and polished before the end of the weekend

Belly done - vacious shades of XF-19 Sky Grey. Next the top Green!

Weird that the flat IJN green came out gloss but hey - we can work with that. I started panel fading with a grey-white mix and then overspray with the basecoat. I need a couple of touchups before going on with the brown.

Starting on the brown now - still need to blend it in a little neater. I am going to paint on the markings as they look relatively simple.

Looks great so far. Can´t wait to see it finished. Do you plan some weathering or do you plan to build it clean?t

Ohhhhhh ......bad childhood dreams. My brother bounces my Matchbox Boston Havoc with a ball from the ceiling.🙁

I think everyone has hung a model from the ceiling at one time or another. Most of the time it meets a sad end. My LHS has a ton of models strung up - I wonder how dusty they get?
