As with all projects, I start with as many real photos and information as I can about the vehicle I'm building. In this case, it's easy to find a wealth of Tornado artwork.
I'm working hard on the bays. With good photos and a lot of patience, the interior of the landing gear bays can be scratch-finished and rendered. Primer and base color. Now it's time to detail the cables and connections with acrylics and then some oil paint.
The Revell landing gear isn't bad at all. It needs some detailing, and it could be worth it. Vallejo primer (horrible) and base color with a light gray from AK Real Colors. Now it's time to detail the cables and shock absorber, and do some oil painting.
I'm starting a new project in 1/32 scale. It's the old Revell Tornado model. Obviously, the details are far from current standards, but with a little care and dedication, I think we can do an acceptable job. I'm going to work on this boxed kit, with hardly any aftermarket parts, except for the Aires resin seats and pilots.
