Lagg-3

I decided to see if I could build a basic little kit of a Russian Lagg-3 in under two hours. 0:00 Start! 

0:03 Glued together. (I did say it was basic ) 

0:05 A bit of sanding. 

0:07 Washed. 0:09 Dried. 0:12 Primer sprayed. 

0:17 Undercarriage & wheel well paint colour mixed and applied. 0:18 Undercarriage struts painted. 

0:25 Light green painted. (tan paint being mixed next to it) 

0:55 Tan applied to plane and canopy. (canopy took ages, really fiddly) 

1:09 Dark green mixed and applied. 

1:12 1st grey coat. 1:16 2nd grey coat. 1:21 3rd and final grey coat. (all very thin coats) 

1:23 Tail & spinner painted blue, 1st clear coat applied. 1:27 2nd clear coat. 

1:35 Decals applied. 

1:45 Painted tyres, intakes and exhausts. 

1:48 Fitted undercarriage, prop and canopy. 

1:50 Sprayed matt coat. 

1:56 Dry brush weathering. 1:59 Pastels applied as exhaust smoke, model finished! 

2 hours star to finish! Not the best kit in the world but it was fun to build. 

 

 

 

 

Told you that canopy was fiddly!
