🙂 Maybe I'll put unicorns and rainbows on it. 🙂
Seriously though, I was looking at it late last night and thought that it doesn't actually look all that war-like.

You forget Tinkerbell and her friends. ;-D
Paint it glossy red and make some white stripes on it.

Tinkerbell 🙂 may as well add Gandalf.
Red and white did come to mind as did a mid blue and white.

By Tinkerbell, I thought of my daughter. She has the age and the movies on DVD to be a fan of this little fairy. ;-D
Hm, mid blue and white is a little bit better, I think.

I love this floatplane, the Rex. It should be dark green over green-gray... 🙂

It's starting to look like something from Porco Rosso II -"The pig's post WWII retirement to the mid Pacific" - Ha Ha !!!

Of course not - I just made that up !!!
... but ... such a sequel could also star a unicorn, the entire cast of Peter Pan, Gandalf ... the possibilities are endless ...
PS beautiful work btw Ben

That must have been a huge aircraft in it's day. Totally uncluttered lines Ben.
Have you got a paint job in mind ?
This will be a gem to see ben.
I am comfortable here mate.
Now entertain us. 🙂

🙂 JW, great film though and there should be a sequel.
@Arne. It's a mix of Humbrol aluminium 27001 & 27002, Humbrol Copper 12 and Humbrol Clear Orange 1322 in varying amounts as to what I thought I wanted. I'm really just playing with it and trying out styles and methods. The other striped colour is an enamel mission brown I bought from a hardware store mixed with a bit of black gloss. I'll add a black satin band alongside the brown on the wings near the fuselage. I'm sort of happy with where it's going, I'm learning, we never stop learning and sometimes you need to give yourself space to learn and experiment.
Kerry, kind words, thank you. "Clean lines" are indeed what she has, very elegant. I've been looking at the speed race planes of the 30's lately and been awed at their elegance which is what I see in this plane. She's beautiful. As a shipwright by trade I love clean lines.
Anyway, I'm having fun.

Album info
My first Japanese plane. Very easy kit to build and clean fitting. I'm not sure whether to do a normal paint job or turn it into a civilian float plane. Sort of like the idea of flying this to my own private island, 🙂
