"White Dwarf" is the last stage in a star's life cycle before it goes supernova. This Star is more or less in that stage of it's life.
It's rundown, but I used to see old tractors like this being used as yard spotters, or by farmers or guys who hauled scrap. It's a bit ripe for much over-the-highway hauling, but it'l still get the job done when called upon... provided it needn't pass any state inspections.
This was built from a '73 vintage T546 kit- it differs from the recent Round 2 reissue with dainty Firestone tires, a decal sheet with lousy print quality, (mine was no longer even usable), and Western Star logos engraved on the mud flaps. I used the bigger 11x20" Goodyears from a White Freightliner- that same kit also donated it's rear suspension, wheels, axles and hubs. The decals are spares from a Round 2 reissue.
