Looks great! 👍 Did the plane got a hit during combat? The hole on pic 3 on the upper left side of the Balkenkreuz.
3 August 2015, 05:06

Thank´s to all of you for the otivating words.
@ coporado: youre right, it get several hits. two in the rear fuselage which went through, one in the engine cowling which caused some debris when it struck the enginge block , some in the wings and rudder
@ Holger: Not mounted yet, but it will be
3 August 2015, 07:09

Small update: The buffer stop is weathered;
@Holger: the landing gear is mounted now 😄
10 August 2015, 19:29

Thank' s Christian. Because I havd vacation now I can work on it each day for several hours. So there will be some progress in the next days.
17 August 2015, 20:52

Great job Christian. Looking forward to the finish of this one. 👍 👍 👍
23 August 2015, 20:36

Thanks Phil. I hope to finish it until Mol and take it with me.
23 August 2015, 20:45

Thanks Guido, no, tiles runs out. Production can not follow the need. I use annair drying clay and can produce five to six lots per day, 28 tiles per lot, 73 pieces per row 😄
23 August 2015, 21:11

Next milestone reached. The plane is fixed on the railcar!
28 August 2015, 20:45

Thank's James. Indeed it was a lot of detail work to get this result . Unfortunately most of this is not recogniceable at the end.
28 August 2015, 21:13

This looks great! I like the diorama setting. Applying all those the tiles looks like a tedious job.
28 August 2015, 21:29

Thank's mates.
@ Jan: You are right. It is a kind of slavery work.
28 August 2015, 22:23

It is coming together really well! Unusual and beautiful composition.
29 August 2015, 17:52

Thank you mates.
@ Aghis: It took near20 years from the idea when I bought a Bf 109 manual in the mid 90s to its realization.
@Tim: I hope to finish it within the next two weeks so there is a good chance that you can take a look at it in Mol.
29 August 2015, 19:13

Next milestone reached: The warehouse is finished.
Next action will be to build some figures and accessoirs.
2 September 2015, 17:02

Danke Christian. Brachst dich aber auch nicht verstecken😉
2 September 2015, 17:15

Well Christian, this all comes out better and better and even it is a small diorama I would like to call it a super diorama. Looking forward to some figures and bits and pieces. By the way, I much like the very small details like the Erla commercial sign!
Cheers, Christian
2 September 2015, 18:10

Thanks to all of you for your coments.
@Guido: A rear wall is existing yet but after it's installation it was dark in the office and the furniture was no more recognicable. So the plan now is to close the rear of the attic and the office stays open. ( It was never planed to give a view into the Ttic. So it ia not prepared for this.)
PS: I also tridd to make a foto from the office trough the window, but it did not work well. I wil try this again when everything is finished.
2 September 2015, 21:29

3 September 2015, 03:56

This scene is as cool as can be, Christian!😎 I follow your progress closely. Looking forward to see your figures. 👍
3 September 2015, 05:26

Thank you for the motivating coments mates.
@Harry: Unfortunately I will not be in Ried this year because I will go to the exhibition in Mol in two weeks and the exhibition in Ried is to close to it. So maybe next year.
3 September 2015, 07:08

Marvelous... just to bad I can't make it this year to KMK... Would love to see this one in reality
3 September 2015, 09:16

Looks really great Christian, one candidate for the model of the year 😉
3 September 2015, 15:36

Your Diorama is splendid and this is a very orignal configuration for a 109! Great job!
3 September 2015, 18:14

Thank you for your kind and motivatinc words.
Today I reworked three figures foreseen for this. Pics will follow within ghe next days.
3 September 2015, 18:34

Beautiful result, well done! Looks like Brett Green got jealous of your project though!!!

4 September 2015, 15:30

These are really awesome projects with a very high skill level! Fully respect to the modellers!
4 September 2015, 16:23

Many tanks mates.
@ Aghis: The combination that Brett built was an option for me when I started to plan this build. Both, the plane hauled by a truck which was used after an emergency landing in the landscape to bring the plane back to the air base as well as the rail transport for transport over large distances are described and displayed in the Bf 109 maintenance manual. But at the end I decided for the rail transport because I also have a faible for model railway since I was a child.

20 October 2015, 17:20

Danke Mates.
@Stefan: Schick mir mal nen Scan auf mein email account. MF lese ich nur sporadisch..
20 October 2015, 17:26

Thanks Christian.
Btw:I just realized that I fogott to post the final pics.
20 October 2015, 19:27

Hallo Lemmy!
21 October 2015, 16:57

As anounced this week I took some pics of the finished project today.
24 October 2015, 14:48

Wow ,that's a Triple beauty.
-1- the airplane
-2- wagon
-3- Dio!
Gold from me!!
24 October 2015, 17:02

Thank you for your motivating words mates.
@Zimmi: It was a very nice conversation in Mol. Unfortunatly I do not live less far from Belgium. If I would I could attend more exhibitions there.
@Guido:I hope that we get the opportunity to meet next year.
24 October 2015, 20:38

I see you have spent a great deal of your time around railway stations. lol 👍
All the weeds and flowers and grass growing in and around the site and all along the wall next to the track gives the whole diorama a sense of 'completeness' if there is such a word. 🙂
Beautifully done and well thought out.
You have left nothing to the imagination. 🙂
Salute. 👍
24 October 2015, 20:47

Kerry, these are the simple effects to make a dio look real. But this is nothing I invented. It is the result of walking with open eyes through life and 🙂 of readind the book of shepard payne:"how to build a diorama";
Nevertheless my father is a model railroader and I always built the landscape. This is the origin of my faiböe to build dios.
24 October 2015, 21:03

Hi again Christian, And, I must say here that my inspiration was also born in the images of Shep Payne's work, from when I was a mere lad, and I am still finding his works are inspiring, as most of the people involved in this hobby do, as he set the standard that we all try so hard to reach, and in doing so, we all keep his legacy alive.
I do love your total attention to detail mate. 🙂
24 October 2015, 21:32

I owe this book for 20 years now. Just googled for him and realized that he died this year and that he was born one year after my dad was born. But as you wrote . His works are, lets say it in ky words, milestones for our hobby.
24 October 2015, 21:49

As written above.... most admirable work- and a inspiring joy to study and to learn from!
25 October 2015, 08:57

Very nicely put together, original composition and not overcrowded scene. Well done Christian.
25 October 2015, 15:39

I have not read all the other threads but the number says it all! - just brill and so much to look at in such a small space and all highly detailed too.
28 October 2015, 19:14

Clifford, Michael, many thank´s for your positive comments. This gives me motivation for some new projects I have in mind.
29 October 2015, 06:14

Hi Kerry , I also thought about pigeon or some other birds.. Have to check availibity. Maybe I have to make them by my own. Started to build some Ewoks today for a Star Wars project. Im am sure that some milliput will be available.
30 January 2016, 19:44

I do like what you have done to the roof Christian, and the Ariel gives it that finishing touch.
Cheers mate, 👍 🙂
30 January 2016, 19:57

Thanks Guido, indeed I am more satisfied with the result now.
30 January 2016, 20:17

22 March 2016, 05:42

Thank you m8, wonduful diorama, and great build, I am shocked completely.
22 March 2016, 10:06

19 April 2016, 17:56

Den Preis hast Du Dir wirklich verdient. Herzlichen Glückwunsch!
19 April 2016, 17:58

Congratulations! One of the best dioramas Ive seen so far and more then deserved!
20 April 2016, 04:45

Tja Lemmy, was soll ich sagen?
20 April 2016, 06:22

Thanks Phil and Guido. Hope to meet you both next year because I will not go to Belgium this year.
21 April 2016, 20:38

I am not familiar with this particular competition but should have been 1st - looks so good and different.
23 April 2016, 00:13

Thanks Michael. If you attend a competition you have to accept the decission of the judges. Sometimes it is hard sometimes it is easy. Depends always on the quality of the other entries.
23 April 2016, 05:48

absolutely stunning, a true work of art. what a beautiful dio, with already and a fantastic model.
22 January 2017, 10:58

Just when I was getting back into modelling, I saw this dio somewhere on the internet and I still remember how transfixed I was. It's still one of the best dioramas I have ever seen. Stunning work!
22 January 2017, 15:17

Thanks Jörg and Bryn.
@ Jörg: Kanntest du das noch nicht?
24 January 2017, 21:04

I have no words...
2nd place?! What came first?! A fully functional 1/144th scale Apollo moon lander made entirely from photoetched 24k gold that actually WENT to the moon and returned with dust for the diorama!?! And here I was pleased with my little shark submarine build....
25 January 2017, 01:13

Thanks mates.
@Greg: No problem, I accept the decission of the judges
25 January 2017, 15:14

and now everybody is probably wondering what marvel was better than yours...., unless Greg is right and it was the 24k gold Apollo model.... i did not manage to find it in the website of the contest, airplane category has an error and there are no pictures there.
25 January 2017, 16:25

Superb! Wonderful dio, thanks for sharing, this is a real inspiration to me!!! 👍
