De Havilland Mosquito NF. Mk.II
1
May 28, 2017Start of my next project Mosquito NF MkII2
May 28, 2017All parts in the box. Still old tooling despite the new box, but not too bad.3
June 10, 2017Flight deck is plain and simple.4
June 10, 2017Scratch build a platform behind the navigators seat to cover up the emptyness and create a place for radio equipment5
June 10, 2017Works out fine with some Evergreen.6
June 10, 2017Testfit to make sure fuselage halves still fit.7
June 10, 2017Touch of interiorgreen. I used humbrol 78 as a close match8
June 10, 2017Radio equipment partly from the kit and from my sparepart box9
June 10, 2017Looks ok for me. Pilot and navigator figures will be added later10
June 10, 2017Painting started of the 1:72 scale figures. Next to the Mosquito flight crew I'm also working on the Airfix RAF emergency set, so these figures are taken care of at the same time11
June 10, 2017Main landing gear doors show some serious ejector pin marks. As they are visible I had to fill them in with putty and sand them smooth12
June 10, 2017Main landing gear. rather fiddely job to work on.13
June 10, 2017Each wing contains a landinglight which has to be put in place before assembly of the winghalves. I've put in the glazing and on the inside a small piece of Bare metal foil does the trick.14
June 10, 2017Landinglight seen after the wing is fixed together15
June 10, 2017Working on the crew of my Mosquito. I use one of the crewmembers left over from my Airfix Defiant project.16
June 10, 2017The other one is from the Mosquito kit itself, so I will have two guys with full legs.17
June 10, 2017Also my first go with the new oilbrusher from Mig18
June 10, 2017Looks like a mascara set, but it really works clean and precise. Keep in mind this is oilpaint, so it takes longer to dry.19
June 10, 2017Results are fine. Bare in mind this is 1/72 scale20
June 10, 201721
June 10, 2017So, started out working on the main landing gear, which as stated is quit fiddely.22
June 10, 2017To prevent the propshaft falling backwarts after closing the engine cowling, I decided to put a little angled strip right behind it. This makes sure I can fit the propellor later in good fashion without the risk of dropping the small pin in the cowling23
June 10, 2017slowly getting there24
June 10, 2017Two wings allmost ready25

Hello Ferry, beautifully built. I have already built this kit, you can find it under projects 😉

Thank you Christian. I've looked at your build as well and looks wonderful too. Nice to see that we can make a nice model from an older kit as well. By the way, your other night fighters are great too.
