Yes, sure was. This is 'Sally B' - the last flying B17 in Europe. She is based at the Imperial War Museum at RAF Duxford, Cambridgeshire and a regular at airshows.

Hi Holger. The pyrotechnics were all part of the show. It was a simulated bombing run by the Bristol Blenheim. Caught a few spectators by surprise. You could really feel the whoosh of heat. Im looking forward to the new Airfix version coming soon: airfix.com/uk-en/bri..kiv-bomber-1-72.html

Spanjaard, that would be THE day for me! After it, i could die in peace... LOL
25 July 2017, 12:12

Yes that would make a unique show! I would add a Bf 110E to the list.

Thank you for sharing those Pictures - good to see the real thing from time to time to be reminded what they REALLY look like, when painted 😄

Hi Markus - 'Aint nothing like the real thing baby'. Yes airshows/museums and SM member photos are a great resource.
25 July 2017, 12:19

ha ha ha, and the list goes one Holger, but yes, that could qualify as a good day.
Markus Antonius, remember, those have been restored, and their guesses are as good as yours 😄 some museum pieces are far from what they were supposed to be 😄

That's a good point Spanjaard. Probably anything pre-1940 involves at least some guess work.
