Welcome aboard. A nice little kit. Super clean finish on this one I think. They always look so shiny.

Thank you Mike. I have it on my wish list. I hope that Airfix release a new tool Jet Provost Mk.5 or Strikemaster that competes with Sword's.
1 November 2017, 13:39

That Sword looks rather nice.

Thanks Cuajete and John. Not sure if this is the 'best' variant Oleg. There are a great many schemes to choose from. I really like the the Sword Strikemaster (above) as well. I see a little collection coming along soon.
15 November 2017, 00:26

Ok,Mike!I also want to collect another one from Sword. But Airfix kit like it more. The sword looks rougher and less detailed. There is no alternative, unfortunately.(
15 November 2017, 19:56

Hi Oleg. Yes having searched a little there are not that many available which is a shame. Have you build the Sword ?
16 November 2017, 01:14

Hi Mike! After building Provost from Airfix, I immediately wanted to build jet from Sword. But the number of improvements, quickly cooled my desire))) May be later...
16 November 2017, 08:01

Looked once again and the impression is better already, I think you were right, Mike, the Sword Strikemaster as well . And, the a bit putty may need however)
16 November 2017, 11:38

Thanks Clifford. Yes they do; scalemates.com/kits/167858-fly-48013-bac-jet-provost-t-5-t-5a, scalemates.com/kits/167857-fly-48015-bac-167-strikemaster. Well the T5. Not sure about the T.3. Must admit I am tempted.
17 November 2017, 09:49

Will have to give them a look see. I like the look of the Aircraft.
17 November 2017, 22:04

Nice looking JP, Mike! Looks like you did an excellent job with the masking for the red/white demarcation!
18 November 2017, 00:22

Hi Gorden. Thanks. Yes that was a bit tricky. I used some 2mm tape which just about managed to bend around the shape. Pencilled it out first as a guide. Did leak a bit but only needed some minor retouching.
18 November 2017, 01:34

Always a bit scary when you do a pin wash. Cleaned up nice though. Phew....
19 November 2017, 23:35

Thats about it on the little Airfix Jet Provo. Im really pleased with it. Quite challenging really given the over one hundred decals provided. One warning - make sure you weight the nose well. Its a real tail sitter.
27 November 2017, 20:29

Thanks very much Ekki, Clifford and Spanjaard. A really nice kit. In fact I have just bought another one. Id like to have a go at the other scheme which is really different. And there is the T5. A new collection is born.
27 November 2017, 23:59

Very nice, Mike. Fast building, pretty paint and fantastic result. Congratulations!
Have already arrived the T.4 in my stash with red scheme:

28 November 2017, 19:30

Yaaa. I just got the same one. The decal set is very basic compared to the T.3 kit but quite usable. I think i will probably get hold of the ExtraDecal set which gives about six variations.

A decal sheet with very interesting schemes. I also thought to get the same decals 🙂
28 November 2017, 20:37

Yes, that sheet looks really good. You actually get eight variants!! Well, just have to do them all. I think someone on SM has already done that ?
28 November 2017, 21:36

Thanks a lot Peter. I thought this would be a nice quick kit. Four weeks later...........
29 November 2017, 11:08

Mike great build this is the new Airfix baby, I must get this kit
29 November 2017, 11:11

Thanks Chris. Yes the 2016 release. Over one hundred decals !! I have just got the starter set which is identical but with a much reduced decal sheet. Ideal for customising. £5.99 in Aldi at the moment!!
29 November 2017, 12:13

Mike I might add some resin seats, I know you have to squeeze them in but she is a little ripper
30 November 2017, 01:22

Thats an idea Chris. Not sure that you have Aldi in Oz. They are a supermarket here in the UK and Europe. Every Christmas they have a run of Airfix starter kits at bargain prices. The Jet Pro is new this year. They also have a nice little HMS Victory which might just fall into the shopping bag when Mrs.D is looking the other way!!

Thanks Oleg. Headlights, mmmm, yes, sort off. Just simply painted them in with some silver paint and a steady hand. (Pic.11).That was probably the one disappointment with this kit - no glass lights.
The lights on the T.5 are quite different and you can see this in the Sword model;
scalemates.com/kits/957811-s..72089-bac-jet-provost-t-mk-5
as is the canopy a new design. That kits on my wish list.
