I like the lemon yellow Tim, suits the car perfectly. What's the deal with the bodies? Is that a moulding fault?
15 July 2019, 09:07

The yellow Looks good! I don't know, how close it comes to the original Charger. I never saw this color in "nature"😉
15 July 2019, 09:59

Yes it's a molding fault, not terrible but annoying. Good thing I have to reshoot the paint, I forgot some detailing parts! Now I got to look at the GL and see what else I'm missing. LOL
15 July 2019, 12:20

This will be a loose replica of the one from the movie Dirty Mary, crazy Larry.
15 July 2019, 20:24

Or do like the factory did and throw.a pound or two of lead at the panel join 😉
15 July 2019, 21:34

& remember I've actually slapped a sander on the real thing & seen the huge lead strip in the rear qtr panel.
Having said that I am still quite old!
54 😉
15 July 2019, 22:50

I retract that last question! On the grounds I don't know what you're talking about! Am I too late not to incriminate myself? LOL
15 July 2019, 22:53

Yes, They are ! I found a Picture of them together ! That's Munkey on the left and Tim on the right discussing lead ! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Duane, it was mostly the 69's, but used a 68 in one scene, the color is Citron yella, but some claim it's sublime green. imdb.com/title/tt007..ivia?ref_=tt_trv_trv Also we have a joke going, A ford guy (Bob) and a GM guy ( me) and a Mopar guy ( Monky) walk into a bar. Hey Bob where did you go? You're not in the picture!
16 July 2019, 02:47

I'm writing parking tickets to a Mopar and a GM out in the parking lot !
16 July 2019, 02:58

LOL! With us being turtles a parking ticket would be all you could give us! LOL!
16 July 2019, 03:59

Looks like the pumped up the 1/25 to 1/16 with all the "correctness" 😉 . i'm a fan of those MOPARs. cool!
16 July 2019, 05:49

I hope I finish these before the guys with white coats find me! LOL
17 July 2019, 17:17

Do you reckon you could change the lead pic? That is the boringest pic ever!
17 July 2019, 21:11

Can't wait to see the DMCL car done, Tim...one of my all time favorite movies. Can't tell ya how many times I've watched it.
And jumping in on this "age" conversation, when I took my autobody course, we learned how to use lead. My instructor also told us that his dad, who was also a body man, had to learn carpentry because of the wood that was used in early cars!
18 July 2019, 02:47

What was the American car movie from the 70's that had a young blonde bloke paired with a girl? Can't remember much about it. Think he'd just got out of prison????
18 July 2019, 06:02

That's right Lode, you know them too! We must be very careful now....
18 July 2019, 12:40

O.K, Tomorrow I head to the hobby shop to size up a piece of train track! I hope to start posting pics of these project in a few days.
19 July 2019, 20:56

O.K I might have to do a different dio than what I thought. I was going to do one with the car approaching the tracks, but forgot that the car was already damaged on the left front side from hitting a pick up truck earlier in the film. So now I'll have to watch the movie again. Any suggestions are welcome. Tks
23 July 2019, 04:08

What are you so happy about Bob? All these one liners are coming from somewhere!
23 July 2019, 05:26

I've spent a lot of time in TX, but have always lived in Chicago suburbs.
23 July 2019, 19:20

Duly Noted ! I have Family up there, My Uncle is the Mayor of a little CornHole town South of Joliet called Morris.
23 July 2019, 20:03

Wow, so after watching the movie I can see a lot of times the color of the car does look Sublime green! But everyone in the movie calls it yellow. which would go with the Citron yella color. In some of the still movie pics I have it sometimes doesn't look like either! Then in some it looks like one or the other color. So now, I either smash up the front end for a dio, or just have the car displayed by the crossing unscathed.
23 July 2019, 21:23

well, that's one for the dio. Chris, the dio would be the car approaching the tracks with damage from the hit with the pick up truck. Couldn't afford a 3 ft train!
24 July 2019, 00:13

I am looking for 2 sets of 1/16th scale wiper blades, any help would be greatly appreciated! TY
26 July 2019, 20:58

You know what Chris ya dead right, having owned a couple of Chargers that centre console with its SlapStik shifter is perfect
27 September 2019, 22:03

We were wonder what was taking you so long ! Figured you turned to the Dark Side and started Building Toyota's and Subaru's and whatnot ! LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
29 September 2019, 02:34

Except for 1 Jag that I got for free, I don't own any furrin' kits. Though this looks interesting... Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R KPGC110 (Aoshima 053492, 1:24)
29 September 2019, 06:24

Bob. keep in mind that I'm doing 4 of these cars in different aspects, Making a lot of custom parts to make each one different as well as some of the same parts for each one, That and I'm starting to hate body work! LOL. No foreign cars here! LOL
29 September 2019, 13:53

Sorry James but I've been busy with finishing up the 55 Nomad and the Starsky and hutch car. I'm getting close to finishing the black 70 F&F charger and I'm hoping to complete that in 2-3 weeks. Thank you sir for asking.
27 January 2020, 22:59

Thanks Don! LOL! I know the answer is staring me in the face for this one. I need to mask the 440 in the stripe since I'm out of paint. I just found the challenge of the 55 Nomad too tempting! LOL
28 January 2020, 04:00

Chargers update: O.k, waiting on rims for the 70 F&F charger so I can chrome the bumper & rims at the same time, and a few little things to glue and a little final painting and it'll be done. Found someone who makes the DMCL decals, which came in Thursday. Started working on exhaust today, again just a few things to glue on and then have to decide weather to do the pretrain damage version or just leave stock. The red R/T that's been hiding in the back ground just needs me to give it the time. The 73 is waiting as well. I've opened my 1 new kit this year and won't see another until I get some of these others that got put to the side done! Way too many started, and so many so close to finishing!
23 February 2020, 06:53

Good way to chill out but I can't! It melted! Not very much snow this year, and only 2 sub zero days, a mild winter so far.
23 February 2020, 16:18

Same here Tim, been on my bike all over winter it's so mild, I love it 😉
Can't wait to see all the big Mopars done!
23 February 2020, 17:50

I have just been convinced by the hobby shop guy to do the damaged version of this one!
23 February 2020, 20:51

I dont wanna get banned for using the F word Bob!
Even tho it's probably 50% of my daily language 😄
23 February 2020, 23:04

Try 25 years in the Army, It's 80% of mine. I have to stop and think on every traffic stop to NOT drop one as to not freak out people, until it becomes necessary that is as situations dictate ! LOL !!!!!!!!!!
24 February 2020, 00:14

Hey, I bought one of those when I was getting out of the Army in '85. 1 to 1 scale 440HP 4speed 8 3/4 rearend and very very fast at that time it was around $5g. Sure wish I still had it!
24 February 2020, 03:11

Bob wishes you still had it too! Been a while since he had a good chase!!
24 February 2020, 04:58

Ahh ! Motorcycles are more fun ! And you can kick em !
Youtube Video

24 February 2020, 05:47

Hey Tim........make sure you tell that Hobby Shop Bob us Scalemates are stoked he's convinced you to 'do' the damage! 👍
24 February 2020, 19:23

Interesting! My lad has a couple of these to build. I wonder if he's picked up on the mould marks? I'll have to give him a heads up.
25 February 2020, 01:15

Did that trooper just pull an epic Chuck Norris move on that bike? HIIII-YA MOTHER F*****
25 February 2020, 01:33

Bozzer if he needs anything I'd be glad to help. I've got the nice looking grill parts ect. Front A arms can be a bite, watch out. As far as that video goes, it would've been more impressive if the guy was still rolling or about to take off.
25 February 2020, 04:11

Thanks Tim. He's actually a Scalemate, so I'm sure he'll surface at some point. Thankfully, one of my offspring took up the hobby! He's more of a car guy than a truck guy, but I'm trying to change that😉
25 February 2020, 16:05

Don't try and change him! He'll be fine and maybe his curiosity will get him into the trucks. You probably started on cars 1st.
25 February 2020, 16:45

Progress thus far; Armour - Sci Fi - bikes - cars - egg planes - trucks - wonder what's next?
